Columbia Road Flower Market

Buying flowers at Columbia Road Market, London

A trip to Columbia Road flower market has been on my to-do list ever since Kit and Shini blogged about it and brought it’s existence to my attention. Upon looking for their posts just now I’m shamed to discover it’s taken me a year; a whole year of embarrassingly long lie-ins and choosing my duvet and DVDs over fresh air and flowers.

Ahh the flowers! I wish I could’ve captured the scent of this little street – not only was the air fragrant with blooms but Christmas trees and mulled wine too (the London air isn’t quite as numbing as it has been lately but who needs an excuse for a little cup?).

The mercury may’ve risen slightly but I’m still feeling the need to wear a cape underneath my coat…and a vest under my dress. I don’t think I need to tell you I’m a fan of collars so in my opinion stumbling across this dress at French Connection’s recent sample sale – the only one and in my size – was fashion fate. I love it when that happens.
