London, I love you

The view of the London skyline from Aqua's roof terrace, overlaid with the Union Jack flag

One year ago today, I moved to London.  I came here before, in 2008, and while things didn’t work out that time I’d caught the bug and couldn’t imagine being anywhere else.  I’m so happy I took this gamble again; not once have I regretted my decision to come back and try again.  I love this city more every day and I’m especially grateful to have lived here during the incredible events 2012 has seen.  It’s been a particularly wonderful time to be able call myself a Londoner.

I wish I could feel like you now! I’ve moved here 9 months ago and I’m still trying to figure out if I love it or not, if I want to stay or not. And of course finding your place here is really hard, there are so many people struggling to! I love it and when I think of going back home the only thing I can think about is: “oh gawd no shops, no art, no free museums, no so many beautiful people, no clubs, no london bridge”. I wish I was able to find a balance here and be happy to stay! In the meantime I’m staying anyway, I’m not ready to leave this magic place yet. :)

It can be a funny old place.

I’m lucky to have come already having friends here, and to have majorly lucked-out work colleague-wise, but I’ve heard people say it can be lonely and I can imagine that to be true.

Hoping you find your balance and your happiness soon! :)

After reading this I realised I have been in London two years now. It is a great city to live in isn’t it?! And I still feel like I haven’t even discovered 10% of it. Still excited to do more in the city.

It’s definitely great to feel home in any city, and London seems to be bustling at all times. I was just there before the Olympics, I can’t imagine how it must have been! x

I love London sooo much too. I visit quite often as I have family there, i’m quite tempted to move one day. I was actually down in London this weekend, there was such an amazing atmosphere, even go to see a couple of public olympic events :) Hope living in London just gets better and better for you :)
