I’m know I’m a fan of ankle boots but I didn’t realise how much until I was stood in Bertie struggling to decide between 4 almost-idential pairs while Amy justifiably mocked me[*]. A group of lucky bloggers had been invited to the South Molton St. store to try on countless shoes and boots while munching on pick’n'mix and sipping Babycham and we were like kids in the best sweet shop ever – if you can honestly say you’d have been able to choose a pair quickly you’re blatantly insanely decisive.
I eventually picked these studded beauties (the Peonee was a serious contender) and I’m absolutely crazy about them (I’ve worn them every day since they came home with me). They’re clearly gorgeous but they’re versatile and super-comfortable too: on our first day out it took 9-hours before the balls of my feet started to ache! Last year’s staple ankle boots also happen to be from Bertie (seen here and here) so I’m really pleased their comfort levels are consistent. Massive thanks to Team Bertie for these (especially the gorgeous Amy)!
Another new piece I’ve been débuting is this leather mini. It’s arrival at work caused much amusement and at home my boy thought it was funny to make reference to ladies of the night. Why do men just not get leather?! Stubborn as I am, I’ve been trying to prove it can be dressed-down and worn during the day by pairing it with plain tops/buttoned-up shirts and tights. Would you wear leather in the daytime? Do share your outfit post links if you have any!
What I wore: Wallis tweed coat* | Muji Breton top | ASOS leather skirt (birthday gift from BFF) | Bertie ankle boots* | Marc by Marc Jacobs bag | Wallis statement necklace* | M&S tights | No7 Wild Volume lipstick (Forever Cherry) | Rimmel Lasting Finish nail polish (Purple Rain)
[*] In my defence can I point out that this was just after Jai’me commented that I wear lots of different styles of shoes on my outfit posts? I consider myself a non-discriminator ;D
