I don’t need to tell you there are plenty of stereotypes about the French and particularly about their appearance: berets, breton tops, quilted handbags, hairy armpits… (I did actually spot one man sporting a beret and felt wild with glee!)
For our day-trip I did want my outfit to have a Parisian influence, without wanting to feel like I was in fancy dress. When I spotted this bouclé dress on ASOS I snapped it up – something about wearing tweed in the land of Chanel just felt right – and with a classic trench, ballet flats and my Louis Vuitton handbag I felt chic and comfortable all day.
However even with the addition of a long-sleeved t-shirt, a cardigan, high-waisted knickers and a double-layering of tights I was still so cold my bones literally ached – it was -2°C!
When exploring other countries do you let the native style influence your own outfit choices?
p.s. Thanks so much for all of your comments on my Paris photo diary post! I’ll be sharing my news soon ;)
