Now that the last of our snow has melted away it’s difficult to imagine the fluffy white streets you see here (and even harder to get my head around the fact these photos were taken so recently). I usually consider winter more of a pain than a pleasure but I’ve really enjoyed these past few days: London looks particularly stunning in the snow!
While my mission to wear more colour is new I’ve always been partial to vibrant shades when the sky is dull. Sampling the Malmaison’s new Sunday brunch (more on that soon!) gave me the perfect opportunity to début a new dress and I just love how much red pops against the freshly-fallen snow (I couldn’t resist posing with this classic postbox – could I have asked for a more perfect, cheesy ‘prop’?). Apparently it was to be a day of red British icons: I later hopped on my first Routemaster bus (not exactly a comfortable ride but fun all the same).
Today saw a little flurry of snow and we’ve been assured there’s more on the way – along with temperatures as low as -8 °C! We’re having a housewarming party this weekend so cross your fingers that my friends from Manchester make it down here safely! I’m of the opinion it’d be quite nice if we got snowed-in so I’ll be stockpiling hot chocolate and sugarific snacks, just in case.
