I have a substantial shoe collection but there’s always room for one more pair, especially when the live-in boyfriend actually likes them and doesn’t throw a fit at the thought of yet more footwear taking up space in our not-so-substantial studio flat. Besides, these shoe boots were kindly sent me by ECCO.
They’re part of their new Sculptured 65 collection – “combining style with comfort” - and after putting them through their paces over the past few days I can definitely attest to their comfort: they’re slippers with a heel and oh-so practical.
Before you roll your eyes at one of fashion’s most boring words just look how cute they are! The collection also includes shoes and boots (all options come in plain or patent leather and in a variety of colours). I adore my patent shoe boots and in my opinion they’re the LBD of footwear: they’ll go with everything and can be worn all year round so they’d be an easily-justified wardrobe addition even if the boy did object.
I’m feeling the heritage trend for AW12 so here I’ve paired them with a tweed dress and my new can’t-take-it-off army jacket. Practicality is so underrated, am I right? What would you wear these shoes with?
