Little Black Jacket at the Saatchi Gallery

Saatchi Gallery, London | Entrance to CHANEL: The Little Black Jacket

There’s an abundance of style-related fun happening in London right now (and I’m not just talking about all the SS13 press days). When I heard about the Saatchi’s “CHANEL: The Little Black Jacket” exhibition it seemed inevitable that fashion bloggers would flock to it, so I tweeted asking if anyone would like to go together and met with Kristabel and Sarah on Saturday afternoon (equalling one happily off-the-hook boyfriend).

The exhibition ties-in with CHANEL’s new book of the same name and is essentially an homage to Gabrielle Chanel’s creation of the most timeless item in fashion history. It’s a larger showcase than I expected; there are 4 rooms packed full of photos of well-known faces wearing the classic CHANEL tweed, all taken by Mr Lagerfeld, of course, and styled by Carine Roitfield. It’s interesting to see so many personalities wearing one piece in so many different ways (a true sign of it’s versatility) but my personal favourite shot has to be of my beloved SJP, displayed side-by-side with a fantastic image of Anna Wintour – only she could be so recognisable shot from behind.

I’m sorry I’m not able to post more photos but the lighting was rather tricky and I’m still not confident using my new camera! Still, as the exhibition has been extended until Sunday 4th November (it was initially supposed to close this weekend) I’d definitely recommend that you head down there if you can! All visitors can also pick up a free poster!

I had a quick flick through the book and thought it isn’t cheap it’s stunning – possibly one to add the the Christmas present list as a substitute? ;)
