I’ve never not liked something made from bouclé. My default, throw-it-on outfit is an ASOS tweed dress – even though I bought it last winter I still wear at least fortnightly – so when the existence of this perfect, perfect skirt came to my attention I traipsed round 4 stores to find it in my size. Love never was easy was it?
I couldn’t resist pairing it with some form of pearls but my favourite brogues add the necessary androgynous touch and salt-sprayed hair stops the whole look from being too groomed. I might like bouclé but I’ll never be the Park Avenue princess type! Saying that I also got the matching jacket and I’m exciting about wearing my first little skirt suit – maybe I’m becoming a polished girly-girl after all?!
What I wore: REISS wool coat (via TK Maxx) | Next tweed mini* | H&M knit (old) | Jones leather brogues | Marc by Marc Jacobs bag (via Bloomingdales) | Oscar de la Renta belt (also via TK Maxx) | Pieces pearl headband | M&S tights | MAC lipstick in “Ruby Woo” | Leighton Denny nails in “Maroon Me Knot”
