Following on from my room tour post, another new piece that’s had a big impact on my life is my chunky Scandinavia pine desk and stool; I can work pretty much anywhere but there’s something about sitting properly at a desk that makes me that bit more productive. It really is great to have so many drawers too – I like everything to have it’s proper place and these are a great size for storing all the boring/ugly essentials that I need easy access to, like my hairdryer.

It helps to have all of my daily essentials close at hand of course: headphones (so I can listen to boy bands alt-J on repeat without driving my housemates insane), tea and snacks (marshmallows are my current sugary treat of choice), magazines, stationary and scented candles.
